I hate the idea of another RF transition, IE ATSC 3.0 I like the idea what this guy has done in Eugene. If I was at the FCC, I would ask TV vendors to provide software patches for older sets. Maybe even setup a software group to help do this. Very very few "older sets" are capable of software or fi...

in the audio world, FM radio is relatively "lo-fi".
maybe a super job by a CE can get it "mid-fi".
but it's never "hi-fi"

in the end, you do whatever you feel most comfortable with on the equipment that YOU own.
I was just trying to provide a path of increased performance (bang for the buck)
If you think there is a heat issue, a cheap (and basically silent) fan, properly placed-- can do wonders for cooling

https://www.avforums.com/threads/6-ohm-or-8-ohms-on-the-receiver-setup.2325222/ Do not follow what the manufacturer suggests in their user manual and do not use impedance switching. It simply starves the speakers of power and has no audible benefits. It is a feature intended to protect the AV receiv...

a smaller # of receivers can decode HEVC than the current standard. The poor folk are the ones most likely not to have the latest and greatest set to decode HEVC, and the poor folk (read: Black and Brown people) are the ones most reliant on OTA broadcasts. Therefore............ it is racist to switc...

Re: Yammies aren't built so well these days...
never ever change the impedance away from 8 ohms, the 6 ohm setting is simply one of those energy saver type of settings that will rob your unit of power
a quick google search will reveal it does no good, only harm

Also Ron's memory was faulty, but I didn't bother to correct him when we spoke on the air: My store was at the c...
