A subtle change to YouTube TV lineup in Metro Detroit region

Unread post by MWmetalhead »

I just noticed the rather useless national CW feed, whose programming mostly consists of tabloidy daytime talk show reruns, was deleted from the lineup within the past 48 hours.

I presume this is due to the fact YouTube TV also carries WKBD, and of course, WKBD recently re-affiliated with the CW.

I really wish they would get the sports net back on that platform. It sucks not having it.

A streaming TV service from Google.

I currently use it. It's not the best, but for the money it's decent, but no Tigers or Red Wings.

If I were interested in Bally's, a streaming subscription for that ($19.99 a month) plus YTTV ($72.99 a month) would still be much, much cheaper than the least expensive Xfinity package where Bally's is offered, especially when considering Xfinity's equipment charges, taxes and franchise fees.

The savings are easily $50+ per month.

YTTV's navigation is annoying at times (no assigned channel numbers, and the channel up & down arrows on the remote are moody), but I find it to be a much better value overall than Comcast.

I like the the You Tube TV streaming service. I used it both at home and up at the lake and only have to pay $72.99 a month to use it at both places. I pay $19.99 extra for Bally sports because I watch the Tigers and the Red Wings a lot. Before I went to You Tube TV, I was paying lots of money to have separate cable service for the home and the cottage.

What are y’all’s cost of internet, in addition to the YouTube tv monthly cost?

Thanks

I'm fortunate to have WOW and Xfinity available. Currently with WOW for $30 per month for 300Mbps (plenty fast enough) I use Sling Blue on the ROKU for $40 per month

My Internet is expensive because I also need a cable phone line for my security system (my console lacks wireless telephony capability). My 800 mbps plan with Xfinity, plus phone service, is $107 a month with taxes & fees included. I use my own modem. If I were to ditch the phone service, total price would only be $16 cheaper.

AT&T Fiber internet prices are better than Xfinity because AT&T gives you the equipment (no rental charge) plus the advertised price is about $10 to $15 less per month.

I like a landline for Doctor/Banking calls. I want the clarity in the connection, still worth the extra expense considering so many goodies are now lumped in when you get the line through broadband.
