THREAD TITLE EDITED TO BE A CATCH-ALL FOR THE 4 STATIONS AIR TALENT MOVES

A couple of these are from a month or a little more ago but I don’t watch in the mornings which they seem to be beefing up a little bit…

Ryan Marshall from WWJ in April.
Brittany Toolis from KIRO in Seattle in June.
Both of them are for the morning show. That’ll give them 3 reporters there at least.

Jasmine Barmore was added in April as well as part of a program to convert print journalists to TV reporters. She came from the Free Press.

Right now channel 7 has a very good core of talented young reporters who have mostly grown up in Michigan or have ties to the area. Each one of them is a pleasure to work with.

Hopefully they will stick around for awhile and become seasoned veterans. If that’s the goal hiring folks originally from the area is a good strategy.

7 needs to improve its anchor desk corps.

Is it just me, or has Glenda Lewis sounded "out of it" for a while?

I do like their street reporters and investigative team a lot.

She always sounds like she’s consoling someone in the waiting room of a hospital and trying to be quiet about it… not a whole lot of pep…

That's a great description of her anchoring style. She used to have a lot more "pep" and personality on-air.

I hope everything is OK with her health wise.

By the way… I take it sports and weather are ok in your opinion? I didn’t see you mention those.

7 Has added Christiana Ford as a reporter. She came from WLEX in Lexington, KY where she was for 3 years. She spent 2 years at WILX in Lansing before that. She’s yet another Detroit native.

Channel 4 is tons worse than 7 at the anchor desk. Other than Devin, there are a whole lot of no names at that desk.

She is on a chill pill or some good antidepressants. She has no emotion, but her chest looks great.

7 Has a new sports guy… Alex Crescenti from KXLY in Spokane, WA. He’s new enough that he didn’t have a bio up on their site. Seems decent although he’s kind of over projecting his delivery and you can hear the echo in the studio.

Former FOX 2 reporter Randy Wimbley has popped up at Channel 7. He left 2 in 2023 and was working in the communications office at Metro Airport. It would be interesting if they put him on the weekend evenings to be a second anchor. It looks like he did some anchoring at 2.
