April Ratings

Unread post by Greg Buben »

The April ratings came out and "The Ticket" is number one overall once again. It also jumped up to a 9.2% share from the
March ratings. I realize Detroit is a big sports market but still that amazes me that "The Ticket" jumped that high. No music
format of any kind comes close to that impressive ratings share.

Interesting. The NFL draft and the Tigers early success? Followed by the Tigers back to reality?

How can you listen to an entire market with 40 plus stations and not hear one song. Somehow, I definitely don’t believe you. The non - commercial Christian stations play tons of music, CBC Music 89.9 plays a lot of music. Actually, you’re probably saying not one song you like is what you’re not hearing.

You never driven in this market then as if you flip thru 8 stations for top music hits play commercials all at once and this is not just a one off. This is happening all morning and afternoons.

You are probably saying mp3 songs off a usb stick are playing in your car and you are not tuned into FM radio.

I’ve been in the Detroit area all my life and listen to a ton of radio. I have never experienced 10 minutes of zero music while scanning the radio dial. So your claim is a bit exaggerated. Someone is playing music somewhere on the dial at all times of the day and night.

no, it's just that nobody besides you would be caught dead ever listening to music played by either Christian stations or Canadian public radio

Impressive showing from 97.1
Looks like the glory days of WCSX at the top are long gone. I dont think they can say any other station(s) is "stealing" their listeners.
WLLZ fumbles along content with its low 2's.

WJR at 1.7, perhaps an all time low.

I still cannot fathom how this station was able to squander its golden history and massive signal with such uncreative and lackluster programming.

WJR does well. They have strong billing numbers. Many advertisers and they hold their own.

LOL no they don't. Their average listener is like 95 years old. Under however many screen names the lengths you go to defend Ancient Modulation is astounding. WJR is DEAD, just like WLS and WABC and others.
