Yup, the usual suspects would be the most likely candidates to buy the station if it were to be placed on the market - EMF, FLR (acquirer of 93.1 Detroit), VCY America and Relevant Radio.

Stick value of 107.3 is probably somewhere within a range of $1.5 million to $2 million in the current climate. If Thunder's cash flow is at least $400,000 annually (I have no idea what the actual figure is), it would not make sense to divest the station. The station is low budget - syndie morning show from within the company, middays are hosted by a 105.3 personality (and most or all of that shift is voicetracked), afternoons are voicetracked from Detroit, and nights & overnights air nationally syndicated shows from within the company. So, even if it bills, say, $750,000 a year, it is likely throwing off at least a few hundred grand of cash flow.
So in reality, 105.3 would be the most likely divestment, and HOT moves to 107.3, That would make it more attractive to someone like K Love being 105.3 comes in well into ottawa county as much as 91.3 does.

Surfing the dial while traveling on the west side of the state, 104.5 and 106.9 both seemed weaker than normal, and 94.5 The Moose was already walking all over WKLQ by the time I reached Clarksville.

WGRD began suffering interference from WJLB near the Ionia exit.

These atmospheric / geomagnetic conditions are doing screwy things.

WVFM needs to fix its audio processing. Sounds like utter trash just 35 miles from the tower. Station sounds muddy with a lack of dynamic range. Bass punchiness is non-existent.

Kudos to WGRD as that station's processing sounds outstanding. Hands down the best sounding rock or classic rock station aurally in the southern half of Michigan. I wish WRIF would use those same settings.
DTE Energy paid $752 million in dividends to its shareholders last fiscal year. Remember that the next time they ask the MPSC to approve rate hikes.

After reading this screed, which I wholeheartedly agree with 95.5%, is the basic reason I have either Sirius or Pandora on the truck stereo system. LAV died with Ed Buchanan....hell, I remember Buchanan on WXTO out of Aquinas. That was REAL MUSIC rocking out, not that canned corporate BS. We even got the WGVU 10 Watt station here in the south end of Wyoming if your radio faced the right direction!
Fun reading folks. Keep up the good work.
