National test??
National test??
it was supposed to be at 2:20 PM thiis afternoon. I was listening on an online SDR near Fenton, and I heard not ONE single AM station air the test. Not one! WTF??? Maybe it was very brief and I simply missed it, but you can switch between radio signals as fast as you can click a mouse. You'd think at least one would be heard?

Comcast relayed the national test without issue in Detroit.
DTE Energy paid $752 million in dividends to its shareholders last fiscal year. Remember that the next time they ask the MPSC to approve rate hikes.

Re: National test??
It was on SXM. Good thing it was only a test and not a real emergency, The audio was so garbled it was barely intelligible.
Re: National test??
Agreed Turkeytop, it was not as good as the audio from the test last year
Re: National test??
All stations carry a weekly local and once a month statewide tests, this was the once a year National test.

Re: National test??
I completely missed it. But if I recall, wasn't this test done on the old "daisy-chain" setup instead of with CAP & IPAWS? I believe they wanted to test the original plan as internet connectivity would probably be lost in many areas in a real event.
Re: National test??
The test was indeed the daisy chain. The test was successful as it showed areas (including regions of Michigan) where the chain can be broken.

Interesting thing too, if you read about Part 11 rules from the FCC, there are still mentions of the old EBS directions for an EAN. And until 2011 there literally was "EBS" in some of the text.
