Turkeytop is just playing you folks.
No one can be that socially inept.
I never thought of buying gas as being a social activity.
Sure, maybe I'm old fashioned. I should be ordering my gas from Amazon.

So, at Sunoco. the other day, none of their four pumps would accept my credit card. They all had excuses. But when I checked my credit card account tonight there was $1 charge at Sunoco.
I'll be going down there tomorrow.

That sounds like a hold that will disappear.

Why can't people go into pay? Are we that lazy? Call me old fashioned...

At home, I always go in to pay, after I've filled my tank and I know how much I owe. .

I guess the miseducation of Florida is rubbing off on you. You multiply the amount of gas you want by the cost per gallon and you receive what you should you pay. For example, let's say you are nearing empty and have a 15 gallon tank and don't want to top it off, you can put 12 gallons in it. $3.50 per gallon(probably what Florida's average is)x 12=$42.

But I want to fill the tank. It could cost $38,27 or it might take $43,42. I don't know.

Then overestimate and go get your change.

So, I have to line up to give them my money. Then, I have to go through the lineup again to get my change. What a great system that is.
Be nice if one really could pay at the pump, using a credit card.

The vast majority of gas stations don't have lines because 99% of customers have gotten with the times and pay at the pump.

I went wirh the vast majority and paid at the pump. But it didn't really save any time. I had to try at three different stations over a spread of about five miles to find one that would accept my card. It used up about a half hour of my time plus some of my gas.

I go to Costco where I have to put not one, but TWO cards in before I pump. It couldn't possibly be easier.

I don't use my card for much (I prefer cash when possible), but even I have to admit that using a card to buy gas is far more convenient than using cash.
