I do stream it. However, call me old fashioned, but I prefer to listen to over the airwaves.

Got it, right now there are WCAR Jingles in between sets. Is there anything on 1090 over the air?

1090 is nothing but static.

Thanks for the info. I'm streaming WCXI 1160 on the tunein app but they are using WCAR Jingles in the id's.

From my location WCAR is nothing but static. Not even a trace of it.

Zero signal from WCAR at my location right now. I'm within the nighttime listening area, too.
Radio-Locator notes it is off the air.

Update for you guys. All of the projects are still a go. In fact, WCXI is in full on stunting mode at the moment. No more Brother Cult!
WCAR is off the air right now. Our Harris MW-1, in service since 1979, just kicked the bucket a few weeks ago. We have a new BE AM-1A racked up, but it needs to be wired and tested. The FCC granted us an STA for the time being.
As for WCXI, we are stunting until we can diagnose the low power issue in the next few weeks. The Cool 1160 web feed has been switched to the new WCAR format for the time being.
Hoping to have both stations with their new formats up sometime in September.

I love the irony of concluding the “Brother Cult” format with audio news of Brother Stair’s arrests and cult revelations.

I have to be honest. If this will be the format of cars 1090, it's beyond disappointing. It's not oldies whatsoever.... In fact it's a heavier classic hits station. Almost a rock station. Hardly any "oldies" music is played. So my question is what's the difference between cool 1160 and this in terms of format? I thought it was a real oldies station like mentioned at the beginning of this thread. Has anyone else listened to the stream? It's definitely not what I think of when I think "oldies"

We're talking a crappy little AM station with a terrible signal (when it is actually broadcasting) that is on few listeners' presets. Does it really matter at the end of the day what programming it airs?

It all sounds like an electric razor in the background, not to mention all the car computer noise. Good stuff, Streaming is where it's at.

In reality you are absolutely right. However, I've longed for the day for real oldies back on a signal. I guess I'd be one of those few listeners to have it preset on my radio. What happened to everyone's passion for the industry/hobby?

Technology is what happened.

Aaron, will Midnight Freakout stay on WPON or will it transfer to WCXI?
