Per FCC filing this week, Peter Iacobelli intends to buy Cadillac Telecasting for $50,000.

Transaction is noted as being subject to obtaining consent from both the FCC and FOX Network.


My perception has been that Cadillac Telecasting existed as a "sidecar" to meet the FCC ownership requirements, just like Sinclair and some other of the large media companies do (e.g. WPBN-WTOM / WGTU-WGTQ). I've never known who the Cadillac Telecasting owner Alexander Bolea & family were, but this transaction will conclude their broadcasting interests.

Perhaps once the Iacobelli family (Peter, sister, and likely others) owns both Heritage and Cadillac Telecasting, they'll dissolve one into the other.

The FCC today (6/18/2026) approved the sale of WFQX (and thus also WFUP and likely also TC-located W23FL-D) to the Iacobelli Revocable Trust, which is the same family as has owned WWTV/WWUP/Heritage Broadcasting for decades.

Well, when you effectively already own and operate it, just not on paper... looks better (and probably easier) to do that instead of simply transferring/gifting the station.
