Shut down after probably 30 years at WCSX. Kind of a shame - I enjoyed the mellow music on a Sunday morning. I guess we needed to hear more Bon Jovi and Queen…ugh

Pam Rossi did a nice job with this when she was the helm. There were a lot of interesting interviews with local artists.

I do agree that WPON's audio chain sounds quite good now. Signal strength in my locale will probably always be an issue. The old transmitter site delivered a far stronger signal to my area. Even when I lived in Warren, it came in loudly & clearly during daytime hours.

WPON's signal strength is weaker than predicted strength in the 14 Mile & Southfield Rd area. I ought to be receiving a 3 mV/m signal or thereabouts. What I'm actually receiving is probably in the 1 to 1.5 mV/m range.

That's always been the weakest part about 'PON at the Milford site. Not sure what'll happen, but with a lot of the stations on surrounding frequencies going dark, like 1470 WFNT in the Flint area, we may be able to apply for a power increase. Going up to at least 1KW would be great.

We did bump the processing to 100 negative and 125 positive, which is the FCC limit, but I need to go down to the site again and check the phasing and pattern. It may need some adjustments.

Just tuned in today and it sounds like garage. I'm located in Shelby and 1160 sounds a little better. AM radio in general is terrible at home and in the car. Unlistenable most of the time. The only 2 signals that are listenable are 760 and 950.

WCXI has always gone farther and sounded better, day and night, probably due to it being run by a Harris DX-15. And believe it or not, it's not even running it full power. It's been on night pattern at 432 watts for the past few months. We had to file an STA for it. For whatever reason, it won't kick up to 15KW.

Another signature of the identity of the early days of the station, gone. I mean, it's early Sunday morning. Why not some laid back stuff? I had introduced a few bands with some great acoustic versions to Pam and some made her show once in a while. Even stations on satellite radio do laid back stuff on Sunday mornings.

Soooooo, what....we're gonna "stick to the format" and hear Ratt and Motley Crue on Sunday mornings now?
