Look for 5 to tinker with their 11:00 news, as one news producer says there's no reason to have 5 on during the late night hours after Colbert is done. The news replay recently was moved out for an in-house roundtable for senior citizens who most likely are not awake. With the departure of Meg, the boys club newscast has nothing that stands out. There has been talk of adding the 10:00 news segments on the little watched 5.2 newscast to expand the 11:00 one with Investigate TV+ getting midnights. The paid Comics Unleashed would most likely get moved to 5-2 to allow for the expanded newscast.

Well, what was the late night programming before "The Late Show" started?? I know WEYI was the CBS affiliate before "The Late Show" existed.

WNEM is down to running Ad Council items during the breaks of the Byron Allen shows. There is no interest from advertisers during that block.

Better idea... why not sign off and save a bit on the electric bill? I don't see the need for all the late-night programming after 12:30 am

40 or so years ago, WNEM signed off at 1AM. They had a recording with Chuck Waters giving the technical details, followed by the Star Spangled Banner, followed by a few seconds of dead air, then the transmitter was shut down for the night. They turned in back on about 545AM in time for the morning news.

I don't see why they can't go back to that (power on before the news).
