Re: Detroit Lions 2025
The Lions are treating their star talent right.
In complete contrast, the Tigers aren't willing (yet) to commit to Skubal.

From today's Detroit News:Mike wrote: ↑Thu Oct 30, 2025 12:47 am Lions sign Pro Bowler Aidan Hutchinson to extension reportedly worth $180M over 4 years
141 guaranteed, new record for a non-QB.
Yahoo also has this: Aidan Hutchinson's big extension another sign that the Lions are comfortable paying everyone
And I would hasten to also point out the video clip at the top of both where they talk about it a bit, and it has the visual that is absolutely needed, with an X embed that has a list of all the guys they've re-upped on. (These vid clips will autoplay, but just hit Pause on it immediately and the list is still right there.)
Yeah sure."It sounds kinda cool," Hutchinson, 25, said of the record. "But if I ask myself why I play this game and why I do what I do, the money is really a byproduct. So, while a lot of those numbers are fun to look at — and it’s cool and it’s such a blessing — in order to for me to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep looking forward, I focus on my play and my evolution as a player. Because, to me, when I see that, that fires me up more than money ever would."

McCarthy looks sharp in the early going.
I want him to have a great game today...in a losing effort.

I don't f'n believe it!
Why don't you just put an f'n skirt on the QB and get it over with!
What the hell was Campbell supposed to do, offer McCarthy a seat on the way to the turf?

Quit whining. You got a gift INT where the WR couldn't catch.moldyoldie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 02, 2025 2:19 pm I don't f'n believe it!Why don't you just put an f'n skirt on the QB and get it over with!

I knew as soon as I saw that first Vikings scoring drive that today's outing was going to be a rough one for the Lions. They were also due for a loss to the Vikings.

Re: Detroit Lions 2025
The Lions played like horseshit today yet still only lost by 3 to a fairly talented team. That's the glass-is-half-full view.

Jesus, they can't keep losing these divisional games! We might need one of those Ls back if it gets tight in week 14 or so.

Re: Detroit Lions 2025
Part of me thinks the Lions took today's game for granted after the big win against the Bucs. Part of me also thinks the bye week did more harm than good.
That red zone possession that ended in a missed FG attempt was a disaster. Remarkably, that missed FG is likely the only thing that stood between a regulation loss versus sending the game to OT despite how awful the Lions played today. Only 65 yards total rushing + a butt load of penalties.
I'm not worried about losing the division. I don't care if they win the division or not. Just make it to the postseason. I'm fine even if they have to play on the road.
