It's a Spotify playlist on the radio right now. That's it. It's boring. The new car smell has worn off. Not surprising. Honestly, the most interesting thing about it is the Canadian content they play - because it makes it different from 98.7, but other than that, Yawn. We'll see when some full time talent comes on, but I don't expect it to be very bold. It's Bell. This is the same thing that languished for years until they gave up. It was stupid to dump it for country, but 89X was boring it's last five years and it's boring now.

I know it's a pipe dream but I would love to hear some 80's alternative on 89X liked the good old days I remember. Maybe some Psychedelic Furs, Smiths, New Order etc.
I will say I have liked much of what I've heard but would love more older stuff.

It's the same thing as classic rock radio, at least when it started gaining ground. The baseline was the Beatles, like this baseline is Nirvana. Classic Rock never or almost never played Elvis or Little Richard or Jerry Lee Lewis, just like 89x won't or will barely play Big Audio Dynamite or Pet Shop Boys or the Cure.

Music choices have been a bit better this week than last.

What's remarkable to me is how much music 89X plays that 98.7 does not play and vice versa.

89X is the superior station.
