The dipshit press secretary didn't even know if Musk was subject to a proper background check. If he fucks with the VA, it might be the end.

I honestly hope he does, because solely because it'll put Congressional Republicans between a rock and a hard place.

Veterans make up a sizeable chunk of their voter base.

If they complicitly let Elon run ragged through the VA such that veterans start getting fucked over on their VA benefits, then they're fucked at the ballot box come midterms.

If they stand up to Elon and say "enough is enough," Elon will pretty much do everything he can to make their lives living hell, including throwing everything he can behind funding primary challengers come midterms.

It's a lose-lose scenario.

Well stated.

I thought it was gonna be Social Security. But this could be the end of Musk one way or another.

He should have never been there in the first fucking place.

That's beside the point. Neither should have Trump.

My MAGA friend in the military told me that will be the final straw for him. And he also said that trans soldiers deserve their back pay. If Trump fucks with the military, good luck ordering them around.

Trump has been calling for privatization of the VA since his first term.

Thats why I updated my resume on November 6, just in case.

For perspective the VA is the largest employer in the government with 487,000 employees.
For those struggling with math those 1000 laid off represent 0.2% of the 487,000 which I suppose is now 486,000.

THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF TRUMP.
It is an endorsement of facts and perspective.

I agree that 1000 people isn't significant for the VA. My concern is what did those people do, and was it someone with experience managing personnel or a 22 year old non-appointee with questionable authority to do anything but get a latté.

I need more information about this, but I have my suspicions.
283,000,000 Americans didn't vote for Trump.

Let him lay off the VA and then the military will take our side. I wish the motherfucker would.
