Passed through that area recently.changed my mind, that location is on the wrong side of the expressway heading into Cadillac from the south. As far as that land south of Cadillac,it would seem that if it wasn't for the main building,it would be a decent place for a few gas stations and possibly a fast food joint or two.

BTW,I believe Adam the main PM anchor, actually lives in Kingsley.

Careful questioning the board's KIA on that. You may evoke a 'WHO CARES?'

The party is derisive about EVERYTHING....just wait for what he has for me. I can't imagine what it must be like to have that much vinegar in one's veins.
Use the ignore function on him. It makes the board much, much more pleasant.

So 9&10 is moving, has there been any movement?

Ok, here you go! Not only information on the auction of the 9&10 building, but also photos and they even filmed a drone fly through of the building. At first glance... there is no way they have that many employees. Second, they really maximized that space and third, that would be a fun building to own. How much do you think it would go for?

Re: 9&10 is moving
Great find.
The news set backdrop with the bevy of CBS "eye" logos irritated me. LOL
It is a beautiful building. They must've spent a decent amount of $$$ on interior build out. The thing is, that configuration probably isn't going to make a ton of sense for another user. Whoever buys it is likely going to have to spend a lot of money on redoing the interior configuration.
I would consider this class B+ office or flex space. An obvious user set does not come to mind for me given the location. I'll hazard a guess that it sells for between $450,000 and $600,000, which is pretty darn low considering its square footage.

I wonder if it could be turned into housing. At $450k it could be used as climate control storage and be profitable.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:16 pm I would consider this class B+ office or flex space. Climate controlled storage would be a good use for that space.

Hello All,
My thoughts after a quick skim of the auction listing:
"Buyer will receive possession at close subject to tenant’s rights if applicable."
With the auction closing on 4/30, and the other statements about timing in the listing, all TV people and things seemingly best expect to be out of there as soon as May. Then again, there are many what ifs that could play out, such as the low bidder ending up not having their financing all arranged in advance as requested.
Has it been mentioned here on MIBuzzboard that NanBop Farms was granted a Special Use Permit back in April 2023 to convert one of the outbuildings (not part of the auction survey diagram) to a 24-unit guest room facility (motel): http://www.clamlaketownship.org/uploads ... nutes.docx

The Survey PDF via the link confirms that it's only the building and limited acreage that's being sold this way. The auction site has no other listings for Cadillac currently. Meticulous me further notices on the document that the surveying was done in July 2024; WWTV noted as the client (versus if a broker was cited); and that the single page provided is sheet 3 of 8 (with some descriptions being on the not included page 7--might the other sheets be other legal descriptions?).BirdieKingBobo wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 6:45 am ...So Tom Ohare leaves and his Nanboo Farms is going to be sold?? ...
Adam hasn't seemed to be in the small studio the past few weeks. Instead back at the main desk, and able to interact in person with the meteorologist. Which leads me to speculate that improvements might be underway in TC, since from the listing:

They should have stayed on Dighton Road. The building looks way to big for their needs. Seems very cold. Poor purchase.

Where is the master control room? Was it adjacent to the studio as seen in the drone video? Where are these garages that Mr. King speaks of where the new control room will go?
The building does look way too big, but there were rumblings of moving from Mt. Dighton for years. When the tower ice fell in masses it was like World War II London. The leaking roof made the interior something reminiscent of a depth-charged U-boat...buckets and tarps everywhere! Many windshields were sacrificed in the parking lot.whitebalance wrote:They should have stayed on Dighton Road. The building looks way to big for their needs. Seems very cold. Poor purchase.
That's to say nothing of the hazardous drive on serpentine Dighton Road during snow and ice storms, often an Indiana Jones type experience.

Well I believe the GR stations are still using the original buildings they started with in the 1940s/50s that were probably old at that time...

WOOD-TV's College Ave. building was completed in 1955.organman95 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 6:14 pm Well I believe the GR stations are still using the original buildings they started with in the 1940s/50s that were probably old at that time...
WWMT moved into their current facility in 1958; it was originally a car dealership.
WZZM's building in Walker was completed in 1971.
WXMI signed on in 1982, so I imagine their facility was built around that time, and then expanded in the '90s when they started doing news.
