Katie Hobbs wins Arizona election! Suck It Kari Lake!
Woe to you, oh earth and sea
For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

It's a great day in America.

This gives me great joy. The entire past week has, really. All of a sudden, I almost have faith in the American voter.

It's really heartwarming! The voters have spoken about not accepting election deniers!

On a personal note, I'm enjoying the hell out of having the results unfold once again after watching the live east coast feeds of news broadcasts being rebroadcasted on tape for the west coast time zones. It's like getting two scoops of ice cream...

My dad's girlfriend must be elated. She's down in Tucson with her signed copy of Sean Hannity's book. I should give her a call today.
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) appeared on Monday to troll Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake after she was projected to lose in her race for governor.
In a tweet on Monday, Cheney quoted a tweet from Lake from late last month that included a letter that mockingly thanked the congresswomen for her “anti-endorsement.” Cheney had weighed in on the race by urging voters to cast a ballot against her fellow Republican.
“You’re welcome, @KariLake,” Cheney said in her tweet Monday.

Re: Katie Hobbs wins Arizona election! Suck It Kari Lake!
Kari Lake was a Kerry and Obama supporter, and she beat an actual Republican that probably would have defeated Hobbs. Has Lake conceded?
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.
Re: Katie Hobbs wins Arizona election! Suck It Kari Lake!
Lake bounced back and forth… she switched back to being a Republican in 2012.
I don’t see any indications that she conceded but concessions don’t mean a thing anyways except to indicate the asshole level of the person.

Here's a fun read this morning... One of the downsides of tricking the stupid into supporting you.
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/15/us/p ... terms.htmlBut the moment crystallized one of the main lessons of the 2022 midterms: Casting doubt on the legitimacy of elections might be an effective tool for galvanizing true believers to participate in a primary — or, at its origins, to storm the U.S. Capitol in order to overturn a losing result. But it can be a lousy strategy when it comes to the paramount mission of any political campaign: to get the most votes.
“If you tell people that voting is hard, or voter fraud is rampant, or elections are rigged, it doesn’t make people more likely to participate,” said David Becker, executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research, a nonpartisan group that works with election officials to bolster trust and efficiency in voting. “Why would you want to play a game you thought was rigged?”
...
“They were torquing the entire system in a way that disadvantaged their own candidates,” said Adrian Fontes, a Democrat who handily defeated one of the most strident election deniers in the country, State Representative Mark Finchem, to become Arizona’s next secretary of state.
“Blessed are those who are righteous in his name.”

Trump is poison to candidates and they are starting to realize this. DeSantis has been asked to speak in Georgia instead of Trump.

There was one localized red wave that nobody is talking about: the state of New York. 4 seats turned red and the last time their representation in the US House was this red was 1996. Moreover, their 15 blue districts is the smallest number in at least 50 years (I got bored and quit looking pre-1970).
Chuck Shumer's results are interesting too - with 95% of the vote counted, his lead is only 56-43. He got 70, 66, and 71 percent of the vote in the previous 3 Senate elections.
The combined House popular vote is even closer than that at about 51-49, albeit with one uncontested district and more blue votes left to count than red ones. I don't think the math is there yet, but are Dems at all worried about New York possibly being in play in 2024 for Republicans?

Three little letters: NYC

Some of that is misleading. The Democrats grossly overplayed their hand and tried to redistrict to the hilt like Florida and Texas have been doing for years. A judge struck their map down that would have netted them 2 or 3 seats. An independent court appointed official drew a new map and that’s where the three seats came from. It’s not like New York doesn’t elect Republicans at all or something. But the Democrats have no reason at all to worry about 2024. None. Zero. They wouldn’t have lost those seats under the old map had they not gotten greedy.bmw wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 9:49 amThere was one localized red wave that nobody is talking about: the state of New York. 4 seats turned red and the last time their representation in the US House was this red was 1996. Reading that State Law may trigger an automatic recount.
