Great what Abbott and Desantis are doing. Of course they're getting slapped by the media saying they're using "public dollars" to do this. I'd bet they could get a few folks to step up and buy some charters but they really shouldn't have to. I'd say keep the busses and planes flying and distribute a proportional share of those coming across the border to all the other states - and especially - the sanctuary cities.
Interesting comment. I'm not going to defend anything currently happening at the border right now on a federal level, but let's look at the specific actions of one governor:
-Takes public taxpayer funds designated for spending in some way to provide for his constituents.
-Gathers up people who probably don't speak much English and are in such a bad way they would do anything to improve their lives.
-Lies to them about where they are going and what's going to happen there.
-Transports them into an area without notice.
-Sits back and laughs as they collect political donations from people who believe this might be good policy.
This is human trafficking - almost the exact definition of it. What if all that money had been spent looking for a solution? What if Congress would spend one fucking day talking about immigration reform instead of just yelling at each other? This is pathetic on so many levels.
