WUDT 23
Re: WUDT 23
Just did a manual scan of RF 8 and RF 23, There is no signal on 8 at all, and a weak signal on 23. I don't think it moved.
Just sucks that WUDT got RF 8 instead of WHNE-LD.

I also did a quick manual scan of RF8 and didn't come up with anything. However, I do frequently pick up WNWO and it seems lately it's been much more reliable, as if the interference I was getting from WUDT has decreased or gone away.

Re: WUDT 23
I'm surprised that they put full-service TV stations about 30 miles apart on RF channels 22 and 23.
22 is WBGU-TV, I had no problem getting them until WNWO went up on 23.
Now I very rarely get WBGU. Instead of getting a-one-anna-two on weekends.

WUDT isn't suppose to be on RF 23, they were suppose to move to RF 8, but have not.

We got our son an amplified TV antenna so he can dump his cable service, he had oTA before in white Lake. He now gets more channels then cable provided. he reported getting Ch 23 out there !

A low-power station on Channel 3, the fact that a digital bit stream must stay above the noise level, and sudden increases from lightning with noise having events orders of magnitude above the level of the station's signal, will easily cause signal dropouts.scifi and horror wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:45 amI don't even notice WUDT 23 signal since I delete it from my channel list anytime I am forced to do a rescan. WHNE-LD on 3 has been going in and out lately, I wonder if it weather related or if they are messing with their antenna set up. I might have to make a Lo-VHF antenna and mount it next to my main antenna.

WNWO increased its "juice" (transmitter effective radiated power) recently.I also did a quick manual scan of RF8 and didn't come up with anything. Absolutely right. Plus, interference from other RF sources has a tendency to travel longer distance it seems during warm, humid air masses.A low-power station on Channel 3, the fact that a digital bit stream must stay above the noise level, and sudden increases from lightning with noise having events orders of magnitude above the level of the station's signal, will easily cause signal dropouts.
When I last surfed the OTA dial a couple weeks ago on a partly cloudy day, WHNE was definitely more difficult to decode than it was back in early spring.

I did a rescan and WUDT is still on RF 23. In the meantime, by the way, does anyone know when will WUDT return to RF 8? Their CP (construction permit) expired on November 5th.

Will December 2021 or early 2022 be the time that WUDT moves back to RF 8?

Re: WUDT 23
The station applied for a license to operate digitally on VHF channel 8. The application was filed and a construction permit was granted on October 10, 2007, and it expired on October 11, 2010. The station went on air shortly after. However, WUDT's digital signal was between the digital signals of WJBK-TV on channel 7 and CBET-DT on channel 9, which may cause some interference. This may also cause interference with Cleveland's WJW in the southeastern areas of Essex County, which has its digital signal on channel 8 as well. Therefore, it was moved back to its old analog channel sometime after.Gerald1981! wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 3:29 pmWill December 2021 or early 2022 be the time that WUDT moves back to RF 8?

Re: WUDT 23
It was supposed to move back to RF 8, I thought, because WNWO in Toledo now uses RF 23.
Adjacent channel digital stations don't interfere with one another to the same extent as adjacent channel analog stations.

Re: WUDT 23
WUDT is useless religious garbage. The channel should be taken off the air if they can’t stop interfering with other more useful channels.

I only discovered this station by putting some aluminum foil on the rabbit ears of my indoor antenna. That's how I ended up here. I never even knew this channel existed.

Re: WUDT 23
Why WUDT is still operating on RF 23 while it's now in the hands of WNWO?
