Vaughn’s on-air presence and delivery are a breath of fresh air, IMO.

Haleigh is a 9.7 in talent. She has a great presence on the television. Grand Rapids is lucky to have her in your area.

Candace Monacelli is not very tall, but her voice is a bit gruff. She fills in on forecasts, weekend mornings and does some support reporting, going to stores on the premi$e that that is "news," etc.

I saw Haleigh for the first time since I'm not a morning person I don't get to see her. I thought she does a good job on 6:30PM forecast she wasn't there for 10PM show as Laura did the forecast at 10PM. I thought that Laura had the night off.

Watching her on WXMI; her on-air skills are excellent. Cannot comment yet on her forecasting ability, but I'm surprised she isn't working in a larger market.

Such a big upgrade over Candace what's-her-face (the tall lady with the hoarse voice). Is she still with the station?

Candace is not only still there, but by all measurable metrics by far the most popular weather person in the building and top 2 or 3 in the entire market. Perfect example of what people like us want with our "talent" vs. what the "average viewer" wants. You (and me to an extent) want forecasting ability, better voice etc...but the average viewer is ALL about likeability factor, and she has it BIG TIME.

Forecasting ability? Hell I read the NWS Forecast Discussion page twice a day for the updates. They all do too. Not that hard after you learn the jargon. Buck Matthews did it, you can too.
