... I say the host leaderboard is Mayim Balik, Michael Exec Producer, and surprisingly Savannah ... Still waiting for Betty White to make a brief appearance since Alex always answered her name for hostess- 99 years old with a walker, it would be cute ....
I'm going to agree with Balik and Richards. IMO Richards was the best of the bunch.

You mention Trebek talking about Betty White. I'm sure that was in jest.
But during an interview, he said three names that he felt would be good replacements for him:
CNN’s Laura Coates, LA Kings announcer Alex Faust and TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz. In that interview, he wasn't being funny.

I said the same thing earlier in this thread. I would of liked to seen Jeopardy give these three a week (or two) as guest host.
Perhaps the host of the show for 37 years seen something in these three that would of made them a better fit than the guest hosts we have seen so far.

The gentleman hosting right now (WDIV airs Jeopardy early during the Olympics) is doing a terrific job.

David Faber is the dude's name.

He’s from CNBC.

I completely agree. He is great.

Faber is Jim Cramer's right-hand man on Squawk on the Street.

I only saw about 1/2 the show, but thought he did pretty good too... especially for a first day.

I'll echo that David Faber was excellent in his first appearance, definitely in the top five thus far.

For those who don't know him, he does a lot of deep investigative business stories for CNBC as well as regular hosting. With Jim Cramer he mostly plays straight man to Cramer's loud mouth proclivities.

As far as current uber-champ Matt Amodio is concerned, his most annoying tendency is to always respond with "What's" to every clue, even if it's a person! :rolleyes

Yes, that can get annoying. I wonder if the guest hosts have to bite their tongue to avoid saying something like "Correct, but a better answer would be WHO is xxxx"!!

Faber would be the man to do it! :8)

Looks like Mike Richards might end up with the gig. If this happens, I guess that means Sony will have to find a replacement Exec Producer.

Faber and Mayim look like the two best candidates, so why choose from within? Michael seems like he would be better off being E.P. of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! than the host of J! ? Interesting that it seems like a rigged contest, without even considering the viewers' opinions. Mike is a safe bet, not likely to lose many people because of it, but will not gain any as a result of it. At least that didn't put Gilbert Godfried in a a replacement for Johnny Gilbert!

From the same source, an assessment of the choice of Richards with which I agree completely.

I think my top three would have been Richards, Rogers and Faber.

It's been a treat actually watching Alex Trebek on the old Classic Concentration! games showing on BUZZR on 2.3!

You'd think someone might have updated this on their website though....

I love Classic Concentration!

If you catch the first season of the show, the available cars in the bonus round are very underwhelming. You can win a Yugo, an Escort, etc…

"Classic Concentration" (May 1987 till November 1991, then reruns till January 1994) NOT on GSN Game Show Network.

I'd be OK with that!

I thought he did a very good job. Faber is better, but not by much.

I give the Sony and Jeopardy folks a TON of credit for exhaustively vetting successors to Alex. I wish The Price is Right would've exercised even 10 percent the amount of care in choosing a replacement for Bob Barker. Then again, Fremantle Media has a knack for choosing terrible hosts. (I cannot stand the broad who hosts the reboot to Press Your Luck, for example.)

Drew Carey was flat out TERRIBLE for at least his first two seasons hosting TPIR. Bob had tremendous respect for the legacy of the show, including statistics with regard to epic wins or epic fails. Drew just doesn't seem to give two shits (I will say Drew does a better job of explaining pricing game rules than Bob in many cases).
