Pretty sad day in journalism when you’re forced to run a story on your station owner getting an honorary degree:

But this is the quality we have come to expect from Armstrong Williams owned stations like WEYI...
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Re: Armstrong graduates
Honorary. Translation: didn't earn it.
Re: Armstrong graduates
Exactly. When Armstrong’s sugar daddy (David Smith) gives him a sweetheart deal, you get an honorary degree. He didn’t earn his position as a broadcaster and hadn’t earned his doctorate degree. Seems just about right. Even still, Armstrong will probably want us to address him as “doctor” during his next station visit!
Re: Armstrong graduates
Can’t believe we were forced to run a story about Armstrong’s “honorary” degree in our newscasts:

Bondy looks like he’s a hostage being forced to read a statement from his captives. All to appease Armstrong’s oversized ego.
The GM and the In Over Her Head News Director should have never allowed our newscasts to be used for this non-news story. It’s an embarrassment.
