Taking Care Of The Base
Taking Care Of The Base
While many families patiently wait for their one time 1400.00 stimulus check to help them make ends meet during mandated shut downs and trying to balance work and in home virtual schooling, federal employee's will find it much easier to balance work. in home learning and child care.
Snuck in the new "stimulus package" is a $570 million “Emergency Federal Employee Leave fund,” which is exclusively reserved for federal employees. If you’re a federal employee, you can receive $1,400 a week in paid time off for 15 weeks if you decide to stay at home and virtually school your child. The wording actually uses the terms "boys and girls" which surprises me in these "gender neutral" times.
Good old Uncle Joe issued guidelines that pretty much extends at least some at home virtual schooling for the foreseeable future, keeping the Teachers Unions (Base) that don't want to go back to work while still getting paid happy. Then, because of that directive, will give $21,000 to any federal employee (Base), but ONLY federal employees, over a 15 week period to stay home with those children. The rest of you that probably earn less than a federal employee, fend for yourselves.
"Let them eat cake" comes to mind.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Talk about runaway pork...
What happens if a large number of federal employees exercise their ability to receive paid leave?
If governmental agencies and departments are truly staffed appropriately, how would they be able to continue to effectively carry out their duties if they are unusually short-handed of personnel?
The funny thing is, even many who are Democrats and even some in the mainstream media are coming around to the importance of in-person instruction. Heck, even Governor Whitmer (to her credit) has begun emphasizing the importance of in-person learning. Of course, when Betsy DeVos was pleading the case for in-person instruction, she was harshly rebuked.

Betsy DeVos never wanted children to stay home in March and April 2020 when death rates were staggering...MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 6:36 amTalk about runaway pork...

They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

It would be kind of like a dreaded "government shutdown," I wonder if the media and the leftists will liken that to the apocalypse too?MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 6:36 amTalk about runaway pork...

The government is not staffed by our best and brightest either. They always complain about being short staffed as it is.Bryce wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 7:42 amIt would be kind of like a dreaded "government shutdown," I wonder if the media and the leftists will liken that to the apocalypse too?MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 6:36 amTalk about runaway pork...

Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

Staggering? In March and April 2020? For school aged children? When did this take place?MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 7:33 am

The deaths for adults were staggering, idiot. The concern was that kids were spreading the virus and asymptomatic carriers. Some of them were.

Keep in mind, a LOT of those deaths were in nursing homes because of the policies Andrew Cuomo and Gretchen Whitmer.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 7:52 amThe deaths for adults were staggering, idiot. I am not getting into this stupid debate with those lies again. Propaganda. This area keeps rehashing the same lies, and it's beyond embarrassing.

What are the lies? Are you talking about how Cuomo and Whitmer lied about nursing home deaths?MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 7:57 amI am not getting into this stupid debate with those lies again. Propaganda. This area keeps rehashing the same lies, and it's beyond embarrassing.

Re: Taking Care Of The Base
Our schools opened with hybrid learning long before schools elsewhere and things have been fine. Strict protocols were in place and followed and things went fine. Our state opened under a well thought out and practical plan and our state unemployment rate is at 4 percent with more jobs than people right now. Our high school sports started on time in August and have had minimal intrusions with a quarantine here and there. Our schools were not a major source of transmission, barely a source at all and the state kept close tabs on it. The great debate over children in school being a major source of transmission will be debated long after life returns to whatever normal will be but available evidence points toward school not being a big problem.
