106.7 on the air?
Re: 106.7 on the air?
That map is based on M-3. In reality, it probably only goes out half as far at the most.
Here's the conductivities they measured (shown as M and the end of that geographical direction in degrees out to the distance shown in km). The graphs at the end show it more concisely in the lower left hand corner.
https://licensing.fcc.gov/cdbs/CDBS_Att ... &exhcnum=1
Detailed M-3 Map. Real measured conductivities are less than 2 in the areas shown in Grand Traverse County, and much much less than 8 in the areas shown as 8.

Re: 106.7 on the air?
Sorry if my above post is in the wrong thread, was very busy at the moment.
Listened to the new 1310 for about 15 minutes total.Seems to be about half 90's country and half 70's and 80's,wish their playlist was more like one of the Duke FM stations.

However, there are two redundant translators in TC (CMU's on 95.1 and one of Smile FM's two translators). I'm surprised Midwestern hasn't attempted to buy one or both of themChrisWL1980 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 8:04 pmAnd they have no FM translator. I really don't see the point.

Why would either sell their value assets?

Re: 106.7 on the air?
I agree that AM 1310 will likely gain an FM translator soon.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: 106.7 on the air?
The 95.1 Translator is pretty much useless. Not sure if WJNL's 101.1 still required to rebroadcast 1210.Would either 99.7 or 99.9 make suitable translators?Would hate to lose Duke FM on 99.7.
Re: 106.7 on the air?
Especially since its transmitter is right across M-72 from WCMV's transmitter!
Smile FM's 97.1 and 102.5 translators broadcast from the same tower along Cedar Run Rd.
Re: 106.7 on the air?
99.9 would work as WOUF is a Class A. For comparison, there's a translator on 100.3 about 21 miles from Class A WTRV on 100.5. WOUF's licensed TL is at least 25 miles from the TC tower farm
Re: 106.7 on the air?
WOUF has a CP to collocate on 100.7 as a Class C3 with WLLS on 99.3. 99.9 is a third adjacent to 99.3. It would have to be at least about 34 miles away as a Class A. So no, it wouldn't work. Read CFR 47, Section 73.207. The licensed site on 100.1 is about 8-9 miles South.

Re: 106.7 on the air?
Looking at a recent FCC filing,it looks like Sovereign Communications is in the process of aquiring 106.7's former sister station 92.5.If so,it would seem they would likely use it for a repeater of one of their Sault Saint Marie stations.

Meanwhile, this may be the last photograph of the Historic WJML Studio Building, taken in December. The front half was torn down recently.
It looks pretty bad now. Makes the remaining WTRX building look good by comparison.
