Hello someone smarter than me, I need to move my automation to my tower and with that I'll need to install some form of EAS with it.
Does anyone know of a virtual EAS software that I can place on my automation machine?
I have searched but I must have you typing in the correct keywords.

Virtual endec
Re: Virtual endec
So , what, exactly, is an ENCED or EAS ?
I am wary of home automation with any RF likks that could be compromised or "hacked" by outside actors.
And, how does this tie in with the Subject "Brodcasting"

Re: Virtual endec
I asked both my engineer and IT department and neither knew of one offhand, but my IT guy, a true geek, bless his heart, said he would do some research.
Re: Virtual endec
It has everything to do with FM radio broadcasting in the United states. an endec is a hardwired unit that manages your EAS messages. Eas stands for emergency alert system. You don't have that you don't broadcast commercially. So this is an engineering question

No, that's for emergency agencies, such as county/state government.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: Virtual endec
OK It's the EANS, Emergency Action Notification system.....That must be the modernized version of "CONELRAD" .
The last station I worked at had a few extra relays in the standby AM transmitter, left over from when they switched to 1240 KHz for an Atomic War warning.
