Sadie Hughes

Has anyone heard from from former 25-66 anchor Sadie Hughes?

Proves once again if you sue Sinclair Broadcasting, they will go all out to ruin your career.

Good thing about Sadie’s lawsuit is it exposes Sinclair’s/In Over Her Head News Director’s/HR Director-Party Planner’s reliance on unfair practices and intimidation to “keep employees in line”. The mandatory signing of contracts with non-competes, damages, non-disclosures needs to be thrown out by a judge.

Can someone tell Lovin and R how the “foe” setting works so they can understand why their incoherent ramblings are falling on deaf ears?

I'm not familiar with this person and have never watched the station as it's outside my viewing range.

Seriously, how does this distinguish Sinclair from any other broadcast owner?

Vic: Sinclair will tell you (over and over again) how they are one of the largest local broadcasters in America and as a result of their size can force employees to sign these legally questionable clauses because potential employees can’t afford to be banned from working in about 40-percent of TV markets where Sinclair and its sidecar operations do business. It’s a racket that a judge or the FCC needs to break up.

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. Wouldn't virtually any broadcaster try to deep six any employee or former employee who sued them? How is Sinclair different from all the others?

The lawsuit was filed by Sadie AFTER Sinclair fired her.

Sinclair apparently doesn’t mind picking up people like Leslie Toldo who have sued other broadcasters (ABC12), but doesn’t like it when it happens to them. Sounds like a double standard.

Plus if you don’t want Sadie or others to work for you, that’s fine. That’s a business decision. But to keep them from seeking other employment in market after you fired them is just not OK. If I were to work at Meijer then got a better offer at Kroger, Meijer doesn’t employ legally questionable non-compete employment clauses

Let’s all help find Sadie a new job to show Sinclair that you can’t keep a good journalist down!

Really...

Look who is preparing for a return to 25-66’s airwaves!

https://pughfuneralhome.com/tribute/det ... tures.html

Mid-Michigan’s favorite ex-anchor/fitness coach heads to trial next month! And not everyone’s happy. Despite years of legal maneuvering, Sinclair and its many lawyers have failed to get the case tossed. And now managers will have to testify under oath about this wrongful termination case.

Why no coverage by the other media? The Flint Urinal covered Toldo et al when she got her payout from WJRT.

Nick Lulli successfully sued WNEM:

If history is any lesson, this could be a costly couple of weeks for Flint’s newest GM!

I guess you can say the cancer in the 25-66 newsroom continues to cause problems. 25-66 managers and newsroom staff have been distracted all freaking week as this sham trial forced the station to enumerate all the reasons why Sadie was a horrible anchor and an even worse coworker and human being.
