USB Flash Drive for Music
USB Flash Drive for Music
I just recently started to transfer music to USB Flash Drives to use mainly in the truck and occasionally at home. I think it’s actually not a bad way to go for taking over 1000 titles with you wherever you need to go.

It's what I do! So much better listening to what I want rather than some station playing music they think I want to hear.

My parents both have USB flash drives in their card as their main choice for listening to music.

Your folks are smart. I’ve should’ve done this a few years ago, now that I have a new truck a 2020 Ford F-150 with all this fancy shit it’s time to utilize all the toys that come with it. This USB thing is incredible and the Mrs. is now always in my new toy she loves driving this truck and wants one of her own.radioandtventhusiast wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 11:23 amMy parents both have USB flash drives in their card as their main choice for listening to music.

It's a great way to listen to the music you like, and avoid the ones you don't.Lucky615 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 3:38 pmYour folks are smart. We’ve had this for a bit.... MP3 players have been around for 20 years or so now.
“podcast” is the coined term but yes, having it on a usb drive is probably easiest to be able to drag/drop and play off of.

I've been loading up a stick with songs for at least 5 years to use in the car.Lucky615 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 3:38 pmYour folks are smart. But I wanted to ask, does your new truck have a CD player? If I'm not mistaken, I believe someone told me they bought a new Ford (pretty sure it's a Fusion) and it don't have a CD player.

My 2020 Ford F-150 doesn’t have a CD player. It my understanding they started to eliminate them in the 2019 Ford vehicles.Mike Oxlong wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 10:53 amI've been loading up a stick with songs for at least 5 years to use in the car.Lucky615 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 3:38 pmYour folks are smart. I believe 2015 was the last model year of Chevy Equinox with a CD slot,
Re: USB Flash Drive for Music
My 2013 Equinox had it. My 2016 didn't. My 2020 doesn't.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.
Re: USB Flash Drive for Music
I run my music off of my phone into the auxiliary input.
When in range of a cell tower I have internet radio... when their is no service I play saved music.
Easy peasy.

My 2016 Ford Escape has a CD player which I've yet to use. I'm liking Sirius/XM's offerings a lot! I've also yet to acquire a smartphone; I suppose I'll be forced to at some point.
FWIW, I was the last one on the block to get a VCR.
