WTVS repack upgrades completed
WTVS repack upgrades completed
WTVS 56 (RF 20) is now operational on its permanent antenna on the candelabra, at full authorized power.
Re: WTVS repack upgrades completed
I will have to connect my 12 inch rabbit ears dipole and check the signals out.

It's pegging the virtual signal strength meter using a four-bay bowtie 14' above ground in Temperance.
Re: WTVS repack upgrades completed
What RF channel is the ole analog CH20 parked at now? Is that viewable with a 4 bay bowtie in Temperance?
Re: WTVS repack upgrades completed
I assume it's still up on the WKBD/WTVS tower at 11 MIle and Inkster Road?
They move those FM and TV transmitters around like men on a ChessBoard
AM towers are harder to uproot and move aroud.

No, I believe WTVS broadcasts from the WWJ-TV tower along Eight Mile Rd.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: WTVS repack upgrades completed
WMYD 20 (long-long-ago analog RF 20) is at RF 31, on the candelabra at 8 Mile/Meyers Rd., along with WTVS and WWJ-TV. WHNE, RF 3, which had been on RF 20 pre-repack, is side mount on the same tower, as is WUDL (or WUDT?).
On ATC's "WKBD" tower on 11 Mile are WKBD and WPXD up top, and side mount WDWO. The third stick on the platform is the long (11 years) decommissioned analog ch. 56 antenna. It remains there for structural reasons, and, as the tallest one, is home to the aircraft warning beacon.

Cool info! Thanks for sharing, especially the last part about the beacon!SolarMax wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 10:28 amWMYD 20 (long-long-ago analog RF 20) is at RF 31, on the candelabra at 8 Mile/Meyers Rd., along with WTVS and WWJ-TV.
