The question you should ask yourself is whether most people outside your bubble (and it’s not a big bubble) know it’s even a racist symbol or know what it means. At a certain point if nobody knows what it means or views it as racist your argument loses its punch.

The question you should ask yourself is whether most people outside your bubble (and it’s not a big bubble) know it’s even a racist symbol or know what it means. At a certain point if nobody knows what it means or views it as racist your argument loses its punch.

I guess the work that is happening now is quite important then. You seem to get defensive about issues of diversity and wider appreciation for all cultures in The United States. I am merely looking at the landscape and increasingly become aware of things that really offend people in our country.

That's pretty damn easy living in Traverse City. How many times in the last month have you had someone walk up to you on the street and say, "Give me a dollar muther fucker?" It happened to me last month in New Center. There was indeed a lesson in respect given that day. I'm sure he'll remember it for a while.
