CW 50 News is a joke!!

Fox 2 and TV 20 both went straight to Governor Whitmer’s press conference tonight, about flooding in Midland, MI. It was breaking news.

Yet WKBD, CW 50, didn’t. They were talking about the same damn boring stories, given by some reporter out of Dallas, Texas. Why couldn’t they go straight to her press conference, much like it’s own sister station, CBS 62 does in the afternoon?

Yet again, WKBD proves to be an amateurish station, with an even worse newscast. What a joke!!!

It's probably just some syndicated newscast. Cut 'em some slack. They probably have a limited budget because for the longest time they were only supposed to carry programming and not have to develop their own newscast.

Will be surprised if 50's newscast (which really simply dispenses stale news) is still around come 2021.

This was a news show from out of state, that they brought on for the election. It will be gone after.

Let me guess CW50's News slogan: "At 10PM, it's history. At 10:30PM, it's still history."

The combination of taking the news hours in advance (and repeating it right after), along with having no budget to cover anything live, makes them severely flatfooted against the competition. While CBS is no doubt hankering to cancel the news now and put on an hour of Friends reruns, they'll keep it around only to accommodate the political ad buys. They could do better by running a test pattern for an hour, interrupting every few minutes for a "commercial break".

If you have a prepackaged newscast this eliminates the flexability to switch to anything that could occur during the newscast. Its news on the cheap and has no relevance in an ever changing world.
