OK, I'll shut the hell up if someone can explain how people who are staying at home are getting infected. Seems to me the only possibilities are it's coming in on surfaces (mail, groceries, etc.) that infected people (who probably should have not been out and about) have touched, someone in their immediate vicinity (who probably should have not been out and about) has been infected, or someone is lying about having stayed at home.

Come back into public structures of all kinds where strangers encounter each other and within three weeks or less the flattened curve accelerates steeply upward.

The count down to that happening has foolishly begun this early May.

Many people who’ve been self-isolating at home for months have from time to time had contact with strangers. Medical emergency, dental emergency, veterinarian emergency, bringing in groceries or take out food and not thoroughly cleaning them with disinfectant, running out of disinfectant and not being able to access more, making an exception here or there regarding contact with a family member or friend from another household (holiday, birthday, welcoming new baby, death in the family, neighbor needs help of some kind), bringing in COVID on one’s shoes.

And the longer one is self-isolating the more likely there will be one of those slip ups. All it takes is one time to be infected.

Staying at home for a longer period of time means mostly staying at home.
