If wind is out of SE, Toledo can get much warmer than Detroit and Windsor this time of year. Ten degree differences are not uncommon.

What are you talking about? It's snowing here in Warren
Duh. That's the whole point of my post, F-Squared.

I think you need to re-read what I wrote.

My point was this: As recently as last Saturday - the forecasters were calling for NO SNOW at any point this week, a good deal of fair weather, and relatively comfortable temperatures.

Instead, we got snow showers or flurries Monday Night, and then it snowed again yesterday, and then it snowed again today. Now, we're getting nasty mix of snow and sleet.

That reminds me - this very morning, the jackasses were saying today's precip would be ALL LIQUID from early afternoon onward. So, they were wrong yet again!
Oh sorry about that. I was in a bit of a rush replying to that so I must have missed it

No worries! :)

By the way, the dopes on TV calling for upper 50s for all of Metro Detroit for today are wrong. Prevailing east flow and extensive clouds thru at least morning means many areas will likely be stuck in the low 50's to maybe 54 degrees.

They are also going to whiff on Sunday, I fear. That is a tough forecast. I think that potent upper low to our southeast is going to affect our weather more negatively than most models are suggesting.

Mid 50’s is 54-56 or 57... if it hits 54 you lose. NWS is looking for 58 at Metro. 7 said mid-50’s.

If you’re keeping score at home NWS is hedging that number:
Upper level confluence with area of active subsidence in the mid-
levels will support continued cloud cover through the morning and
afternoon as a low-level inversion holds, trapping residual moisture
underneath it. Zonal flow aloft and low-level flow from the
northeast will only support a modest warm-up for today supported
by highs in the mid to upper-50s and cooler for communities along
Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay due to the marine influence. Latest
HRRR and RAP guidance does suggest some stronger dry Canadian air
filtering in from the northeast later in the afternoon which may
act to scour out cloud cover and could provide some late day
insolation for locations around the Tri-Cities south into Flint.
Have accounted for this in the latest forecast trends and bumped
up temperatures into the mid-50s, however, if this scenario does
not play out, expect temperatures to cap in the upper-40s to
lower-50s. Otherwise, dry weather expected for the day.

In the 1950s, meteorological scientists, using analog computers, solidly showed that any attempt to forecast beyond 42 hours is futile.

That creep Derek Kevra on Ch2 was probably too busy frolicking with Alan Longstreet on scooters in the park to relay the proper forecast.

5pm readings:

57 at Metro, 55 at Mt. Clemens, 54 at City, 55 at Lapeer, 54 at Pontiac, 53 at Monroe, 55 at Adrian, 53 at Howell and 56 at Ann Arbor.

4 out of 9 ain’t bad. See how hard it is?

All I know is that it creeps me out every time I see that commercial with Ben Bailey jumping out of a smartphone in the produce section of a grocery store. Something in that message tells me that TV weather forecasters have very little regard for the intelligence of their viewers.

He would be warning of cuddle alerts every time it was forecast to hit 90 degrees at this rate...

Frolicking 😂😂😂 😆

It's even funnier because I can see them doing it.

I tried to think of one for each county. For your exact spot you nailed it. You’re hired. Probably get it right more than some of these goofs on tv. :lol

Push alert from 4 this morning:
“Dry weekend with highs in the 50’s and a chance of rain”...

Okay?
How many dry weekends have you had where rain was the immediate topic?

The wording sucked was my point...
