Just remember...

Post by MWmetalhead » Wed Apr 22, 2020 6:31 pm

The morons who call themselves weather forecasters as recently as last Saturday were calling for highs in the 50s this entire week, with predominantly partly sunny skies, and absolutely NO SNOW!

Can we please furlough these clueless schmucks?

Thank you.

Duh. That's the whole point of my post, F-Squared.

I think you need to re-read what I wrote.

My point was this: As recently as last Saturday - the forecasters were calling for NO SNOW at any point this week, a good deal of fair weather, and relatively comfortable temperatures.

Instead, we got snow showers or flurries Monday Night, and then it snowed again yesterday, and then it snowed again today. Now, we're getting nasty mix of snow and sleet.

That reminds me - this very morning, the jackasses were saying today's precip would be ALL LIQUID from early afternoon onward. So, they were wrong yet again!

Yeah, WTH, 'close to normal, maybe even 70' they said a week ago. Wrong. Now they say, 14 freakin days of way below normal, precipitation 5 of 7 days and loved that iceball precip today too. Guess they figure we're all about suicidal by now, so they lie to us about the weather every week, like there's some hope for something decent in our miserable shelter in place lives for the next 8 months, if we don't pass from CV19, or lack of TP.

Are we saying that the weather is impossible to predict, or that there just aren't any good people attempting to predict it?

We are saying the latter even if the former is probably more true.

The Weather Channel app on my phone was predicting the weather we're getting now over a week ago. This was back when the news stations were all calling for 50's and 60's.

I think the local meteorologists were picking a model that they hoped would come true. Maybe they figure telling people what they want to hear (for a few days anyways) is a way to avoid having to deliver even more bad news in these tough times.

Seeing sun and 60 is comforting I’ll admit...

Yeah, that's cool. I've got two kids here that haven't seen anyone but myself and their mom in a month. A break in this bullshit would be welcome to get them out of the house and playing. Doing something. Yet again, we're treated to 40 degree temperatures and precipitation every 20 minutes.

SAY YES TO MICHIGANNNNNNN!

This weather pattern is the antithesis of "Chamber of Commerce" weather. :blink

Sirrealone, I think your theory has merit! I agree; TWC did a better job of handling this pattern (although even their forecast was far from perfect).
