New Nielsen Audio ratings survey for Grand Rapids - a few interesting twists!

B93 is still down from its long-term average but picked up a half share to go from a 6.9 to a 7.4. They are tied in 1st with sister station WOOD AM/FM.

WCSG also rebounded nicely, moving to a 6.7 share.

WGRD scored its best 12+ result in at least a few years, with a 6.7 share.

WSNX has been on a slow slide each of the past few books.

Star 105.7 is holding steady in the mid 4's, which is pretty good relative to prior history. Will those numbers hold into the warmer months of the year?

Michigan Radio remains strong but lost ground. WLAV's recovery continues (new & improved signal likely helped matters) but still trails WGRD by a sizable margin. WLAV's gains came at the expense of 98.7 WFGR.

Just before Magic 104.9 made the idiotic decision to ditch Steve Harvey, its week-long numbers improved to a 2.6 share, its best showing in six months if not longer.

Thunder 107.3 remains an underperforming dumpster fire. How can a mass appeal music station on THAT signal achieve such shitty numbers?!?! (I still cannot help but wonder if 94.5 is receiving some of 107.3's credit.)

I would call 101.3 The Brew's music "mass appeal," but a typical hour of music is so horrendously structured that I cannot come to terms with making such a declaration! Their 1.2 share - perhaps an all-time record low for the station going back five decades - befits the terrible programming.

How much longer will Cumulus and iHM, respectively, tolerate 107.3 and 101.3's horrendous ratings?

I don't think iHM has ever put much effort in to 101.3...and this goes back to the Clear Channel days. Playlist has got to be an imported national premium choice deal. It is truly awful.

They tried when The Fox first launched in 2000 (or was it 2001?) and when the station relaunched as The Brew. Bob & Tom was not a cheap show to run and earned very respectable ratings for several years when 101.3 carried it.

You are correct; the playlist is a nationally developed playlist with zero local customization. The exact same playlist, right down to song order & song air times, is used on WZZO Allentown, WVBZ Greensboro, WHEB Portsmouth, WZRX Lima, and multiple other iFart rock stations.

The playlist is truly horrible, and even worse than the playlist is Rover's Morning Glory.

Opie & Anthony had a 0.8 share in ages 12+ when 107.3 KLQ aired their awful show in mornings. Would not surprise me if Rover's numbers are even worse. In other words, his piece of shit show might have the fewest listeners of any morning show to ever air on a Rock or Classic Rock station in Grand Rapids!

Ifart is stupid as hell for not swapping Magic 104.9 to 101.3.

I forgot that, lol. TSM is actually doing well these days compared to ifart and cumuless.
