Math, folks.

As of today, 300,000 global Covid-19 cases. Less than 14,000 deaths. Out of 7.7 BILLION PEOPLE!!!

What’s the death rate? 0.045%

LESS THAN HALF OF A PERCENT!!!

MEDIA: HORROR!!! SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN!!!!!
Global numbers don’t matter a whit in New York City or Seattle right now.

I'm gonna look like a hippie before all is said and done. LOL

I was due for a haircut this week. I actually considered going in for a haircut yesterday, but decided against it.
 I was gonna post the exact same thing.

Several months before the coronavirus pandemic began, the Trump administration eliminated a key American public health position in Beijing intended to help detect disease outbreaks in China, Reuters has learned.

The American disease expert, a medical epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency, left her post in July, according to four sources with knowledge of the issue. The first cases of the new coronavirus may have emerged as early as November, and as cases exploded, the Trump administration in February chastised China for censoring information about the outbreak and keeping U.S. experts from entering the country to help.

Emmet and Charlevoix stick out to me. The only county outside of Wayne/Oakland/Macomb/Washtenaw/Ingham/Wood that had it was Bay. So that’s 6 counties. Now 4 or 5 days later ah additional 26 counties outside of that group have it. It hasn’t hopped across the bridge yet... but it’s in 32 of our 83 counties at the moment.

Any predictions for an over/under as far as the date that "all non-essential" businesses are ordered to close? I give it 5 days from now.
And....the under has it. Rumor has it that Whitmer will be announcing some sort of "shelter in place" order at 11 AM today.

My business is actually exempt under the category of "Information Technology." I will nevertheless be closing my doors to the public.

I did read through the entire order. While it starts out as sounding very strict, once you get into the exceptions list, there are holes so big you could drive a truck through them. I'm not sure this is really going to help much.

Just the title and most people being too lazy to read it is probably enough to take a massive chunk out of it.

Same thing here in Ohio. Except I’ve read that disobeying the order could lead to a 2nd-degree misdemeanor.
