Rumor has it, former Ch 7 traffic reporter Rachel McCrary was ousted a few years ago, in favor of Ann Marie. If this is true, yikes! Talk about karma!!

Probably true. La Flamme was brought aboard when 7 did a really stupid reformatting of its morning show, where the station decided to have six or seven people in studio. They had Jeff Vaughn doing stand ups from the newsroom reading AP or Reuters wire stories at the time. He should've been anchoring.

I cannot remember if it was that reformat where Maddox was given the co-anchor chair or the subsequent one.

That was the reformat after Vic Faust left the morning show in 2014.

FWIW LaFlamme on Mojo and the Morning last week said that she has known for two months they were not renewing her contract. When she announced on social media her last day was coming up, then WXYZ told her she was done that day.

… if for no other reason, her non-compete clause, ALL stations have em, the only question is whether hers is 6 months or a year.
I'm curious about non-compete clauses. I see folks on here mention them. So if someone does have a six month non-compete clause, does the station pay them for the six months?

It just seems to me (like I've said before I'm in no way professionally involved with media) that if the person isn't allowed to earn elsewhere for a period of time, they should be getting at least something during that time period.
I don't know in this case, but frequently you do get some kind of 'stipend' for agreeing to a non-compete. However, that might have been built into her contract, so she might have been receiving that 'stipend' since she signed on.

RE: Isom. Hilary Golston is beginning to remind me of Isom every time I hear her talk. Not quite as dramatic, but similar cadence many times she talks. Hope she does not continue down that road.

In other words they didn’t like her announcement and fired her. That screams “last straw” in big capital letters...

Don't think she's worried about it right now.Image

Glory to the Lord Most High! He is truly Able! I’m so happy got her father. Sorry about her grandfather. He’s in a much better place.

Looks like Murri got rid of the people who told the truth in their depositions about him promoting Maddox after Maddox had sex with the intern in the parking lot

It sounds like Scripps has a culture issue. Not good at all. I say all the good anchors need to leave 7, when their contract ends.

Non-competes do not keep you from working in the industry, they keep you from working in the same DMA for a term of usually 6 months after the end of a contract. I have never heard of a "stipend". This is standard industry wide, but if you know someone who went "across the street" immediately after leaving one station, that simply means they were working "without" a contract for a few months/years before their departure at the error or "favor" of management, but this example is very rare.

This is very disappointing, she was on my hot babe list . Not only is she a terrific representative for the community she's a very nice person. I sure hope she ends up somewhere in this city. Now I just have Foxie -Ali Hoxie and Glenda Lewis left at 7.
I see she's been doing traffic lately, and doing pretty well. I think she's better at that role than Ann Marie was.

I think Ali Hoxie is doing a fine job. She does need to loosen up a little bit though.

She knows the difference between "alternative" and "alternate," unlike most traffic reporters.

She always looked frightened to be on TV to me...
