That's sound advice always.

Governor declared “state of emergency” because of two sick people.
This is one of the few things she has done correctly. It allows the state to receive federal response funding.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

Both pretty big counties population-wise. They should narrow it down so folks know if they are in close proximity to infected folks. If I lived in Rochester and the case was in Ferndale, it wouldn't change much of what I do, but if it was in Rochester or Rochester Hills, I'd react differently.

I agree with you on this topic.

I also agree that the state of emergency declaration was appropriate.

Have any media outlets disclosed the locations of the quarantined individuals who reside in Wayne and Oakland counties?

Two people, and it’s an emergency? Absurd. Swine flu was much worse- I don’t recall that being a state of emergency. People panic too much when they shouldn’t be.

On a lighter note, TC Talks and I agree on something! That may be a first.

It's all about access to federal funding. Declaring a "state of emergency" as a preemptive measure is fine by me.

One case at least is at UofM. There are 465 suspected cases in Michigan and 350 test kits?

Why aren't we using the WHO test like the rest if the world?

I agree. It should be taken seriously, but the electronic media is really trying to stir up a panic with its coverage. One of those times when you really should avoid TV news with its hyperactive coverage. I'll stick with the newspaper where I can absorb things at my own pace.

Some other random thoughts:

I don't plan to watch one minute of the NCAA basketball playoffs. The crowd noise is the best part of those games. And these sports talk idiots who say that crowdless games will be "interesting" don't realize that the the novelty will wear off in about 10 minutes.

At work today, someday said, "You know where those Michigan State students are going to go? The bar." Where they'll experience the face-to-face experiences that they'll miss in the classroom.

I've enjoyed the "My Corona" parodies of "My Sharona." This is my favorite: https://youtu.be/gDc_6KRaX6Q

So this week in Italy 800 people will die. The first case was discovered in Italy on January 31, just 41 days ago. 12,460 infections total as of today.

On April 21 (41 days from now) if 120 people (adjusted for Michigan's population)die in a week, and 1870 people have been infected, will you take Covid19 seriously?
