Debate Thread (Bloomberg Now ProLife?)

Post by audiophile » Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:36 pm

He said there was 650 murders a year in NYC, and that his number one priority as major was to protect all life.

I'm stunned.

He's getting bludgeoned on stage and is coming across as meek, nervous, and unprepared.

His debate performance so far could not be any worse. Total catastrophe.

Pocahontas had the line of the night so far...
somebody who calls women fat broads and horse-faced lesbians -- and no, I’m not talking about Donald Trump, I’m talking about Mayor Bloomberg.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Warren is having a good night. I think Sanders and Buttigieg have had somewhat better performances so far. Even Biden is having a decent night.

Bloomberg's campaign is suffering major collateral damage right now.

Biden thinks the companies that operate completely under current the law but use fossil fuels should be sued. That's ex post facto, and against the law.

Bloomberg just slammed that others on the debate stage never created a company. They all said nothing. Wow.

Bloomberg is right on rich shaming, he earned the money because he worked hard.

He also did good by saying he is giving it away.

Another billionaire. What could possibly go wrong?

Why elect Trump 2.1, when you can have the real deal?

Keeping in mind that this is a DEMOCRAT debate aimed at DEMOCRAT and Independent voters, I would say that Bloomberg is having a TERRIBLE night. Most of the sound bytes that will dominate the airwaves over the next few days will come from the first 10 minutes - and those 10 minutes were a blood bath for Bloomberg. And later in the debate, even though he's made some fair points on substance, he comes across as being incredibly smug and arrogant.

Everyone else is having a decent night. Bernie has done well handling the attacks and criticism coming from his right. Warren has had some of the best lines of the night (though I have to say that her constantly raising her hands like a school girl is kind of annoying). Biden has done well emphasizing his experience (he has mostly been coherent tonight, though he fumbled a lot with the question about alternative energy). Klobuchar makes herself sound reasonable. Buttigieg might be having the weakest night of everyone other than Bloomberg.

Biden will be the beneficiary of Bloomberg's inevitable crash-and-burn.

All 6 candidates were extremely weak in the debate this evening none of them have what it takes to win in November.
