First off, the period goes inside the quotation mark. The latest involves Flint City Councilmember Eric Mays lashing out against 25-66 anchor Dave Bondy.
Politicians like Mays think if they criticize journalists for doing their job that they can pressure the media from investigating wrongdoing. There’s many things that deserve the media’s attention when it comes to good governance at city hall and the media should not be attacked for as our colleagues say “asking the tough questions”.
Second, glad to see you’re defending a coworker rather than “lashing out” at them here.
Third, who cares who the village idiot calls out? In Detroit, Roop Raj takes great pride in “attacking” people who ask him where he’s from in comment sections of stories or on social media.
So when I see a reporter publicizing a village idiot “verbally attacking” them. I do what everyone except that reporter does: roll my eyes and get on with my life. Reporters think it’s a feather in their press cap when someone disagrees with them publicly, but it just shows they have a thin skin and care mostly about publicity.
Now make it a great day!
