Surprised he's still around. especially after this disgrace

I don't know, I don't think its the kind of thing that should get someone thrown off the air forever........
Especially when those restrictions are inconsistently applied between management, sales, full-time air personalities, and lowly overnight and weekend personalities, etc.

What’s in that time slot now? I don’t listen to the station much these days, and especially not on a Saturday morning.

My guess would be some sort of paid programming. Say what you will about Warren. At least he was a local voice.

Website says Inside Outside Guys, which is another home improvement show. Most likely brokered.

The Inside/Outside Guys basically replaced Glenn Haege (America's Master Handyman) when he passed away. They're not bad, but they're not Glenn. Cheap substitutes at best.

I have enjoyed Warren Pierce for years. I found his interviews very interesting and informative. WJR needs this announcer to counter the "hate" people(does not include Mitch Albom, the other decent announcer) now on the station.

The only "hate" I ever see comes from people who cant keep their "hate" of opposing viewpoints to themselves and come online to constantly bash them. They strike me as far more intolerant than most people on WJR, who make a habit out of engaging in civil dialogue with angry detractors on air

Mitch Albom is unlistenable, just as much as his fake columns are unreadable.

I saw Pierce doing a commercial at a car dealership in 2009. He was extremely weird and wired. People were trying to avoid him . He was trying to make small talk with customers and the things he said were strange and insensitive.

I liked Warren's style since his days, doing nights, his gig at the old WCAR AM1130 in the early 70s. In recent years, he reviewed TV shows, etc., as part of his style. That type of programming is perfect for WJR. Nowadays, most of WJR's programming is brokered, which I call "Program Length Commercials". They need more local programming for my taste!

Warren Pierce is still at WJR. I heard him filling in for Paul W., this week.

Good news. Pleased to see this. The displaced TV personalities always sound a bit out of their comfort zone on radio. Leave fill-in work to a real radio guy, like Warren.

I used to listen to Warren Pierce waaaay back in the 60’s on WTAK Garden City. He did the sign on shift as “The Wonder Waker” WTAK 1090 was a 250 watt day timer then.
