Omelette returns

Post by northradiotruth » Fri Dec 20, 2019 9:18 am

I have now heard it from three different sources that Omelette is coming back to KLT. The Morning Trainwreck guys have been told thanks but no thanks and the O-man will make his return to the Northern Michigan radio scene as soon as the deal with Midwestern is complete. I think this is a great move. With the O-man, Terri Ray and Tom Devitt, this gives KLT , in my opinion, the best jock line up in Northern Michigan. This combined with the recent tweaking of the music (More 80's and 90's) KLT should resume it's #1 position in the rankings. Midwestern is going to dominate Northern Michigan radio for years to come.

Not a fan of Terri Ray or Omelette. KLT just sounds too dated IMO. Can only listen to BOC, Journey, Kansas, Foreigner so many times ya know?

Sorry to report, but wasn't Tom Devitt dumped in the last house cleaning a month ago?

Look up and play a bunch of "B-side" songs that most haven't heard. It'll be a nice "fresh start" of sorts. Or new music by same or similar artists.

I thought I heard more 90's material than normal when I listened online earlier this week. Every fourth of fifth song, I would say.

Yes. He confirmed it on Facebook recently.

His numbers on the Bear were pathetic. The station sounds dated and tired. Absolutely no way that they will even come close to Rock 105 and 95.5. More 90’s equals more White Snake and others that have been heard a million times.

Teri Ray was always known to fight to keep the tightly researched songs rotating.

Did confirm Devitt will not be a part of KLT moving forward. Apparently his primary job was being the operations manager of ESPN and he was let go when that went dark.

The bigger news is the fact 93.5 is dumping TCM-FM and switching to a KLT simulcast at Midnight tonight!

"Double Rock KLT" lives on!

MW if you are patting yourself on the back for your predictions, how about me? Omelette returned to KLT on Feb 24th. I broke the story on Dec 20th!

You did... And I still wonder how he is going to continue with some of his "engagement" activities while fitting within the Midwestern brand.

ImageSome nice new digs. Must be fun to work for a station that will spend a little money on a studio...

This is still a risk for midwestern. They are doing an awful lot to roll out the red carpet for Omelette including letting go of their northern country signal. That's a lot for someone who bombed out at The Bear.

KLT was #1 in their male demographic across their entire dayparts in the last book. To jettison the morning and afternoon show is a gutsy move. I never pictured Warren as someone to make bold moves. Their Country Station basically runs unopposed in Traverse City and the same can be said for Rush Limbaugh and their conservative talk station. This is a bold move. We'll see if it works.
