Instead of doing a nationwide search for a new News Director, Sinclair’s GM promotes Neille Giffune to the position.

Neille is an extremely hard worker and deserved the chance. However before now, she had never been a news director in any market... and her first opportunity is in market 65.

Process matters. And the GM and Scott Livingston’s decision to go with a nearly lifelong SBG employee as opposed to considering a news manager that might have a different background or perspective was a big mistake and a big missed opportunity.

Neille is a great person, but she brings zero new ideas to the table on how to grow a last placed TV station.

It’s laziness. I’m surprised they don’t require her to report on weekends.
