Much as I liked JV for all his years as a Tiger his World Series record is miserable, 7 starts, 0-6, 5.68 ERA

Absolutely, but I was just pointing out that those 5, four of them Cy Young award winners, were the 2014 Detroit Tigers starting rotation. And that team got swept by the Orioles in the playoffs.
