Guitarist Vincent Bell dies at 84
Guitarist Vincent Bell, known for his "watery" guitar sound has died at 84 years old. He played "Midnight Cowboy" (1969) & the remake of Bob Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay" (1970) for the late duo Ferrante & Teicher. He was on scores of hit records as a session musician. He invented the Electric Sitar. Whereas Ravi Shankar was Theoretical Sitar, Vinnie was Applied Sitar. Here's probably his most animated appearance on Electric Sitar. "She's A Heartbreaker" by Gene Pitney.
