All I know is that the skirts are TOO DAMN LONG on channel 7! Its not the 1950's ladies, youre allowed to show some leg. Deena on channel 2 isnt scared to show off those beautiful legs!
Re: Ingredients for a morning news show
Only 6% pop culture? Channel 2 is closer to 20%!
Re: Ingredients for a morning news show
I don't think of the morning shows as "news" shows. They might include a segment for news, just like they do for weather or traffic, but I would say the bulk is inane chatter, pop culture and human interest. You also forgot the FOOD/COOKING category which seems to appear in just about every one at least weekly.

CBS This Morning, when they first relaunched the show with Charlie Rose, Gayle King, and Norah O'Donnell had the best approach with a more hard-news angle to their morning show. I'm tired of hearing about the best back-to-school recipes or what some celebrity did last week, which is what you get from the Today Show and Good Morning America. CBS This Morning gives you straight news coverage and a little more in-depth reporting. That's the way morning news should be.

Totally agree with this comment. If it's a "morning news" show, they pulled it off best. They've lost a bit with the latest iteration I think, but still better than their competitors.MrTaterSalad wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 10:14 amCBS This Morning, when they first relaunched the show with Charlie Rose, Gayle King, and Norah O'Donnell had the best approach with a more hard-news angle to their morning show. I dont think people want to start their day with depressing news. Fluff pieces are easier to swallow while you are first waking upMrTaterSalad wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 10:14 amCBS This Morning, when they first relaunched the show with Charlie Rose, Gayle King, and Norah O'Donnell had the best approach with a more hard-news angle to their morning show. Perhaps you should challenge JJ for morning supremacy by getting a job at 4 or 7 as the morning EP.
