Wipes out AM except >1500 kHz, and to the South. WWL and WSB are usually there, plus Central America and the Caribbean. HF bands are Sporadic. It will sometimes recover and repeat.

Groundwave is sometimes interesting where Night Patterns favor your direction, or are close by, and it is like Daytime conditions.

Aurora backscatter is an interesting mode on 10 M and up to low VHF !
Many years ago I worked several stations in the Toronto and Chicago areas one night on both, 10 and 6 M band SSB and CW, with all antennas aimed north to do it ! One guy turned his antenna toward me and disappeared !

Some signals on 40 M are starting to get the aurora flutter sound this morning.

Aurora borealis? At this time of day? At this time of year? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?

I can tell you this, the weekend of the flare was downright awful on HF bands. And what a mess the HF Hurricane Watch Net had to deal with.
