Another TV5 departure

Post by R Bedell » Sun Jul 21, 2019 11:57 am

I read today, that Coty Kuschinsky is leaving TV5, perhaps for greener pastures. Apparently, today is her last day.

From her FB page
As promised... my next chapter is here! I’m honored to accept the position as the Community Affairs Specialist for Jolt Credit Union! 🧡

I’m beyond excited and looking forward to starting this new journey and STILL be so deeply involved in the community that I’m incredibly passionate about! Thank you all for your kind words and well wishes ☺️

From earlier FB post.
I’m leaving TV5 on July 21st because the news business just isn’t for me anymore. I know this may come as a shock to some of you but the 2am alarms and weekends just got the best of me. Some of you are probably thinking “but you’re only 25” and I get that. There’s also some that are wondering why I’m even sharing this much but I take the sincere promise that I made you all to stay for the long haul seriously and I’m sorry I couldn’t fulfill that.

I always did this to tell the stories of the people in the community I grew up in and love so deeply. But I need to start working on my own story. I want to start a family some day, I want to spend time up at my cabin in Hubbard Lake, and I want to stop missing out on so much life.

She was given the worst schedule out of everyone. Even when they tried to make her look bad, she was the consummate professional. There will be a new CMU graduate replacing her shortly.

A CMU grad? More like a CMU freshman.

25/66 lost another photographer too last week. It’s just not a place to build a career. Only the ineffective and unmotivated stick around and past their prime. Then they swear in front of their kids and grandkids during their “semi-retirement” party.

I was very impressed on how she handled the shooting at CMU.

HL101: another example of you taking a post off topic with a rant against a former coworker.

As for the 25-66 photographer, he's getting a job in Orlando... sounds like a decent promotion to me. Unlike recent TV5 and ABC12 departures where they are getting out of the business.

Also, reporter Amy Hybels was let go from WJRT. She came from Grand Rapids. Part of the ongoing shakeup at 12 after News Director Jayne Hodak left "to spend more time with family"/was fired by GM Pete Veto,

Who is the new news director? And did Hybels’ contract run out or was she sent “to spend more time with family” mid-contract?

AMEN. He (or she) just don't get it.

The topic was Coty and it has taken it off track again.

Any location out of there is a promotion: any city in Ohio, a third world country, hell.

HL101: yet another example of your hypocrisy... bashing your former coworkers at 25 while not criticizing employees at other stations who have made similar big market jumps. Your jealousy is showing again.

The reality in this business is that in order to get other opportunities, raises, etc. is that journalists need to move from smaller to bigger markets. Bigger market size equals more viewers, more ad revenue... which in turn means bigger staff sizes, more resources, and bigger paychecks.

That is usually for everyone... except failed meteorologists.

To get back on topic: congrats to Coty. Hope she enjoys sleeping in, not working weekends, mornings, holidays!

+1

There is a correct way to do things. Chances are, that way will be way better than kvetching.

Give one shred of evidence that I ever worked in broadcasting or that I’m who you think I am and I’ll stop posting on here.

I’ll save you the time. You can’t provide any evidence because I’ve never worked in broadcasting and I’m not who you think I am.

Keep trying, Skippy!

If you were never in broadcasting, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ON A BROADCASTING BOARD????? That is, besides causing trouble for everyone???? :red

Listen fag.... THIS BOARD IS FOR BROADCASTERS AND FORMER BROADCASTERS TO TALK SHOP. Not hairdressers to show how newscasts need upgrading. And certainly not for your drag bar style drama! What a fucking loser! YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!

You admitted you were never in broadcasting. I NEVER SAID that I never acted in a movie. YOU GAVE US THAT PROOF BY, YOUR OWN ADMITTANCE YOURSELF. There is no evidence I never acted in a movie. You don't want people assuming things about you, yet, as I previously stated many times, you do what you despise of others upon you. That's why you are nominated in the "Douchebag Suppository."
