A movie on NBC?
I can't remember the last time I saw a theatrical film on network TV. They are playing Furious 7 right now on WDIV. I about shit. Talk about a blast from the past. I'm guessing it didn't include the awesome NBC Saturday night at the movies intro from the 80s and early 90s.

...they do this quite frequently, I'm surprised you didn't notice until now.
Re: A movie on NBC?
NBC did the cartoon "Minions" a few months ago on Sunday night at 7:00!!
Re: A movie on NBC?
Every year ABC shows The Ten Commandments and The Sound Of Music, (How Do you Solve A Problem Like Maria?) Every Christmas season NBC airs It's A Wonderful Life.
Re: A movie on NBC?
All of this is true, but it's not a weekly (or multiple times per week) thing like it was in the 70s. I remember NBC having "night at the movies" every Sunday and Monday (after "Little House") and CBS and ABC having them at least weekly, if not more frequently.

I miss when these major networks produced their own made for TV movies (MOWs)
Now pretty much only lifetime does it, but the quality of them turned to trash. I stopped watching LMN.

"This is Don Stanley for NBC Saturday Night at the Movies. Turn in next week when (Movie Star's Name) stars in (Movie Title)".

Hallmark and UP have movies all the time. Like Lifetime they all follow a rather strict formula, (though Lifetime has made some really good to amazing movies in the last few years.)

When the movie credits were rolling back in 1993 - 1995, NBC said "Did you hear what Jay Leno said on The Tonight Show??"
