The homogenization continues. 94.7 is playing newer stuff along with their playlist of 50 songs, WRIF is playing more older stuff and 106.7 is trying to play tired old stuff mixed in with tired new stuff. AWESOME!

So the people of Detroit have been saying for a decade that WCSX needs to shake it up a bit and give us a break from the same tired songs and they just ignore us.
106.7 rolls up and gives them a bit of competition and all of sudden 94.7 is playing some different songs! Amazing!

I still think the 90s songs will lower the ratings

Actually, I agree. Probably because that is not their thing. Most people who listen to 94.7 want 60's and 70's classic rock with an occasional 80's song thrown in there. WCSX could do that and be fine without just playing the same tired crap over and over.

What it should be:
94.7: 60's, 70's and a few 80's
106.7: 80's, 90's and a few 2000's
101.1: 2000's and a few 90's

What we're getting now is homogenization and all 3 playing too much of the same stuff.

You are spot on. I could not have said it any better!

In the last couple days, the audio processing on WCSX seems a bit cleaner than usual and I'm hearing better bass response.

I think they want it that way. They probably dont think they can compete with-and beat- a station if they play a totally seperate playlist. Playing songs another station plays and mixing them with songs a third station spins, they can grab listeners from both competitors. Example: perhaps WCSX thinks they are pulling listeners from WOMC with stuff like Men At Work AND WRIF with all that damn Ac/Dc. (Is it just me, or do both AC/DC vocalists sing like they just touched a scalding hot stove?)

WRIF is playing some 2000's songs ?They must be trying to get the Millenials whose parents grew up listening to the Poobah and all the other old-times Riff jocks !!!

Just heard Who Can it Be Now by Men at Work on WCSX. Not even close to belonging on a classic rock station.

I dont think they'll ever stray from their preferred strategy of finding a song they like and then playing the ever living bejeesus out of it.
