Not all AAA stations incorporate 70s progressive rock. True, this station is much more current and recurrent oriented than WXRT.
It reminds me of the now defunct 92.9 Dave FM in Atlanta.
My guess is 94.5 will open up its library dramatically with time.

The incompetent boobs at Cumulus still have a bunch of dead links on the Thunder 107.3 and Ticket web pages.
The Facebook link on the Ticket page goes to a non-existent Facebook page (despite the fact the station already has a legitimate one up & running).
The Facebook link on the Blunder/Gnash page goes to the now-defunct Nash 94.5 Facebook page.
No Facebook link appears at all on the Q 94.5 web page, even though the station has one! The mobile version of the Q 94.5 page remains a clusterfuck. Also, no TuneGenie song & artist info appears.

Just heard the first air talent on the station - on Sonic Bliss, a chillout show which is also carried on WQKL in Ann Arbor but the jock did specifically talk about The Q, so maybe it's a different version of the show.

I’m guessing it’s tracked out of AA when the other show is tracked.riggs wrote:Just heard the first air talent on the station - on Sonic Bliss, a chillout show which is also carried on WQKL in Ann Arbor but the jock did specifically talk about The Q, so maybe it's a different version of the show.

That sonic bliss show is actually independently produced and airs on a few radio stations:

...and it looks like they are finally doing some things with the station and website - playlist, check. some back selling and info about the artists... check (at least by voice track earlier tonight).

Got the signal here in Wisconsin for about an hour on Saturday. Didn't sound bad at all. Processing sounded about right for the format it has. First time I've heard the signal running anything other than Country since Thunder launched in 2004. Easy null around WKTI when conditions are right. Heard 107.3 too. Sounded louder in regards to processing. 96.1 seems to get across the lake a lot more recently. Did they update things? Either that or I was simply not paying any attention.

First batch of call changes showed up in the FCC's database today.
94.5 WTNR Holland --> WKLQ
1490 WKLQ Whitehall --> WBBL
Not seeing anything for any of the other stations yet.

Re: 94.5 The Q - new format is Adult Album Alternative
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that there is now live talent on air at the Q. I don't listen much, but I heard a woman stumble through a segue Friday afternoon. I also heard what sounded like a high school girl late Thursday, shortly before midnight.
Why do jox have to say things like "that's all for me. I will leave you with this..." Sounds like things are shutting down. Should I turn the dial? Do jox no longer get air check critiques?

I must say - I'm fairly impressed by the music log. Good song choices!
I like the fact they play a lot of Beck.

At least some of the jocks are voice-tracked. The guy doing middays who calls himself "Ryan" on the Q is Stiller from WLAV, where he does evenings.

Per the station's website Lori Bennett (also PD of 105.3 and 107.3, and OM for the entire Cumulus Grand Rapids Cluster) is PD: http://www.thisisqmusic.com/station-information/

Another specialty show for 94.5: Under the Radar.
Originates at sister station 107.1 WQKL in Ann Arbor. Airs on both stations Sunday evenings.
Had a chance to hear 94.5 first hand this weekend. Sounds good. Clear processing & not overly loud. Perfect for this format.

Driving back from GR this morning to St. Joe and heard, spoken quite slowly and effectively, 'W-K-L-Q ... Holland Grand Rapids' at the top of the hour. It was like a twilight zone episode but fun to hear again. Bravo on recognizing heritage.
