Had listened to Rome and Simonson was on after my 3:00 sales call.

He was talking about his "network" and saying they needed the Federal government to get back so they could add an FM signal in GR.

What is available with any power?

Cumulus applied maybe ten days ago for a CP MOD to use a lower antenna height and an omnidirectional signal (original permit called for a directional signal from a somewhat greater height above ground level).

In other words, Cumulus' engineering department fucked up yet again. Remember how they promised LAV's audience that the signal issues would be fixed in a month or two?

Now, when someone posts to LAV's FB page complaining about reception issues, the post gets deleted! Great way to treat people who've listened to the station for 30 years or more! No wonder no one shows up for station remotes anymore!

I assume the shutdown delayed approval of the changes to W291DJ?

Max power is still gonna be only 70 or 75 watts.

I can't figure out what changed. The coordinates, RCAMSL, ERP, and omni pattern are all the same. But according to fccdata.org, the contours are displaced by a half km or so.

I thought they had maybe moved the site from the AM tower to one of the taller WFUR towaers, but the coordinates are the same.

Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

Same (x, y, z), different (t)

I hope this new FM translator never signs on!

I like being able to listen to Q106 as far westward as possible. :)

This is the way the FM band will be without expansion. And it will just get worse. The FCC has been very callous about DXers and listening to service beyond the protected contour. Best you can do is get the best tuner and directional FM antenna made.
